Pakistan, acting as a mediator, is repeatedly failing despite making multiple attempts to facilitate peace talks between officials from Iran and the United States. Most recently, US President Donald Trump has rejected the latest response submitted by Iran. He stated that Tehran’s conditions are “completely unacceptable.”
In a brief post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote that he is rejecting the proposal. He stated, “I have read the response from Iran’s so-called representatives. I did not like it—completely unacceptable!”
Commenting on the matter, Mostafa Khoshcheshm, a professor at Iran’s University of Applied Science and Technology, remarked that Tehran believes the United States is not sincere about negotiations and is merely stalling for time as a prelude to resuming hostilities.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, the analyst asserted that Washington’s demands are so unrealistic that it appears they are seeking to achieve through negotiations precisely what they failed to accomplish through warfare.
He further claimed that Iran stands ready to return to war should a conflict once again be imposed upon Tehran.
Meanwhile, on Monday (May 11), various Iranian newspapers featured front-page reports regarding the country’s preparations to return to war. These reports indicated that the Islamic Republic is gearing up for a potential resumption of hostilities against the United States and Israel.
Headlines across these media outlets prominently highlighted themes such as Iran’s military readiness, warnings that Washington would pay a heavy price should war resume, and the firm stance that Iran will not capitulate under pressure.
