More than 390 drones attempted to attack the Moscow region overnight, according to the Russian capital’s mayor. These attacks took place just hours before a scheduled meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump.
In a message posted on Telegram on Tuesday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated, “Between 8:30 PM and 6:30 AM local time, over 390 drones flew towards the Moscow region. Air defense forces neutralized the majority of them before they could reach the city. Eighty-one enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were destroyed while approaching Moscow.” News agency AFP reported the story from Moscow.
Andrei Vorobyov, the governor of the Moscow region, also reported that residential buildings in the city of Chekhov and the village of Vaulovo were damaged in the drone attacks.
