U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in China on Wednesday evening for a two-day visit. This marks the first visit to China by a top U.S. leader in the last ten years.

According to the BBC and China’s state-run news agency, Xinhua, Trump arrived in Beijing aboard Air Force One. He was accompanied on the trip by his son, Eric Trump, and his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng welcomed Trump at the airport. There, Trump was accorded a red carpet reception. As Trump descended the aircraft’s stairs, 300 Chinese children—clad in blue and white uniforms—waved American and Chinese flags.

Furthermore, as Han and Trump walked together along the red carpet, the children chanted slogans in Mandarin: “Welcome, welcome, a warm welcome!”

The Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera reports that Trump has no public engagements scheduled in Beijing for Wednesday; however, on Thursday and Friday, he is set to participate in several key events, including multiple meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Several top executives from major U.S. technology companies are part of the U.S. President’s delegation on this visit. The CEOs of Nvidia, Apple, Tesla, and Boeing have already arrived in China.
