Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reports that 51 people have been killed in the country over the past 24 hours as a result of Israeli attacks. Among the deceased are two medical workers.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Health stated that the “Israeli enemy” continues to violate international law and human rights principles. They are persisting in committing crimes against medical personnel. Israel carried out two separate, direct attacks on medical facilities in the Qalawiya and Tibnin areas of Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil district.

This comes despite the fact that a ceasefire has been in effect between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah since April 16. U.S. President Donald Trump had announced this ceasefire on behalf of both parties. Yet, even amidst the truce, both sides have taken up arms against one another on multiple occasions.

On March 2, Israeli forces launched a renewed military offensive in Lebanon. Since then, the country’s Ministry of Health reports that more than 2,846 people have been killed in Lebanon as a result of Israeli attacks.

The United Nations has stated that since the commencement of this renewed military offensive, at least 103 medical workers have been killed and 230 injured in Lebanon across more than 130 separate Israeli attacks.
