Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud stated that the defense agreement with Pakistan and Turkey would bolster efforts to address regional challenges and maintain security and stability. He made these remarks during a cabinet meeting in Jeddah on Tuesday.

King Salman described the Mecca agreement as a long-term defense partnership designed to enhance cooperation.

Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia signed the agreement during a trilateral summit in Mecca last Friday. King Salman noted that the summit reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthening the long-standing historical ties and bonds of brotherhood among the three nations. Additionally, the summit emphasized advancing the “shared strategic interests” of the three countries.

Under the agreement, the three nations have pledged to strengthen joint security, deepen defense cooperation, and work towards establishing peace and stability both within the region and beyond.
