US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran will face a ‘hard hit’ if talks fail and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.
Trump made these remarks in an interview with Fox News.
Trump said, “Iran will never get a nuclear weapon. They haven’t managed to do it yet. However, this will be officially confirmed.”
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he said, “The Strait will be opened very soon. Or they will be hit very hard, and then the Strait will open.”
Trump added, “We were preparing to launch the biggest attack since World War II. Then they called me and very politely asked, ‘Please, can we have talks?’ I said, ‘Yes, we can have talks. Let’s finish this. Let’s get it done.'”
He stated that if Iran backs out of negotiations again, they will be “hit very hard.”
According to Trump, Iran knows and understands this.
The US President further said, “They wouldn’t have come to the negotiating table if we hadn’t done what we did. We hit them very, very hard. But the big hit is yet to come. I hope we don’t have to use it.”
Trump issued this warning amidst the ongoing tensions between Iran and the US and the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
