Dubai fire at fuel facility

Seven explosions occurred within a span of just 20 minutes in the Jebel Ali industrial area of ​​Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Indian media outlet NDTV reported this information on Wednesday.

The report stated that following the explosions, the night sky over the area was blanketed by plumes of smoke; this scene was visible in videos circulating on social media.

Citing UAE officials, Iran’s semi-official news agency, Mehr News, reported that at least seven explosions took place in the Jebel Ali area within 20 minutes.

The report mentioned that two individuals have been arrested on charges of filming the incident. However, the exact cause of the explosions has not yet been confirmed.

Some Iraqi media outlets claimed that a missile attack was launched from Yemen against the UAE amidst the ongoing US-Iran conflict. However, Emirati authorities have not yet released any official information regarding the cause of the explosions.

Meanwhile, NASA satellite imagery revealed a fire at a facility used for fuel storage and transfer near Jebel Ali Port.

However, no immediate information regarding casualties or the extent of the damage was available.

Videos circulating on social media showed massive plumes of black smoke rising into the sky near a residential area.

The UAE is currently on high alert due to the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran, as the report noted that Iran has been regularly carrying out retaliatory attacks targeting US allies in the Middle East.
