Last October 7, the Palestinian organization Hamas launched an ambush inside Israel by breaking through the sophisticated security system. The group currently controls the Gaza Strip. In addition to the selective killing of the southern part of Israel, Hamas held more than two hundred Jews hostage in Gaza. In response, Israel began airstrikes on northern Gaza that day. On October 26, a ground campaign or frontal battle with Hamas guerrillas began there.
As of November 3, 401 Israeli soldiers have been killed in heavy fighting with Hamas. However, Hamas claims that the number of casualties of the occupiers is much higher. During the cease-fire, a senior Hamas leader said that at least 500 Israeli soldiers were seriously wounded in the attack by Palestinian fighters.
Hamas attacked 60 Israeli soldiers who were together on Sunday. Israel acknowledged the death of three more soldiers on the same day. The Times of Israel claimed that 75 Israeli soldiers were killed in Gaza after the ground operation began. However, on the contrary, about 16,000 people were killed in Palestine at the same time. Most of them are women, children and unarmed people.
In this situation, the US has warned that Israel is going to be a “strategic defeat” in the ongoing campaign. The Times of Israel reported that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin gave this warning.
He said, if the casualties of children, women and civilians cannot be controlled in the ongoing operations in the Palestinian Gaza Strip, Israel will be strategically defeated in this war. Because in the current war in the Gaza Strip, the common civilians of the Strip are at the very center of importance. Israel’s forces will be defeated if their confidence in Hamas is renewed due to Israeli operations.
Referring to the repeated warnings of Israel’s ruling leaders, the US defense secretary added that the utmost care must be taken to protect civilians in Gaza and the entry of relief trucks into the Gaza Strip cannot be impeded.
In favor of the implementation of a two-state solution in the Al-Aqsa region, Lloyd Austin said that this solution can actually end the decades of conflict and violence in the Al-Aqsa region of the Middle East. The two-state solution is not only a geographical and political solution, but also the only way to achieve lasting peace in the region.
The US defense minister also said that the terrible war that is currently going on there will end one day; But after the end of the war, no one wants to see insecurity, anger and frustration between the people of Israel and Palestine.
