Again several commercial ships including US warships were attacked. These ships were attacked in the Red Sea on Sunday (December 3). This information was given in a report of the Washington Post.

The Pentagon said several commercial ships, including a US warship, were attacked in the Red Sea. Amid the war between Hamas and Israel, serial attacks on ships in the Middle East have increased significantly.

The Pentagon also said, “We are alert to attacks on commercial ships, including the USS Kearney.” Further information will be communicated once the vessel is in our service.

Earlier on Sunday morning, the British Army reported suspected drone attacks and explosions in the Red Sea.

The Pentagon said they were not sure where the attack came from. However, the Yemeni rebel group Houthis have been carrying out continuous attacks in the Red Sea. They have been targeting ships with drones and missiles.

Earlier, on November 19, Yemen demanded the seizure of Israeli ships in the Red Sea. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the country’s rebel group Houthi, made the claim.

Houthi spokesman Yahya Sari said the Israeli ship was seized from the Red Sea. After that the ship along with the crew was moved to the coast. We are dealing with the crew according to Islamic norms.

Israel’s Defense Forces said that the Houthi attack could have dire consequences for international maritime security. They also termed it as a terrorist act.

The Prime Minister’s Office said the seized ship belonged to a British company. It is being operated under a Japanese company. The ship is not owned by Israel.

The IDF said the seized vessel was named the Galaxy Leader. It was traveling from Türkiye to India with an international civilian crew. There are no Israelis on board.

“We will continue military operations until the aggression and brutal crimes against our Palestinian brothers in Gaza and the West Bank stop,” the Houthi spokesman said.

Earlier, this Yemeni rebel group had threatened to attack if it saw an Israeli ship. They said that they will attack if they see Israeli ships in the Red Sea.
