US President Donald Trump spoke to reporters before boarding a helicopter at the White House, en route to Tennessee for an election campaign event. He stated that he had rejected the proposal put forward by Iran.
According to an Al Jazeera report, Trump’s remarks were not clearly audible as he walked toward the helicopter, as no audio feed was provided.
Earlier on Saturday morning, The Wall Street Journal—citing senior US administration officials—reported that Trump had decided to resume bombing operations against Iran following the midterm elections in early November.
Meanwhile, Trump has once again excluded CNN from the list of journalists accompanying the President on his trip. Consequently, other media outlets scheduled to join the tour have also withdrawn.
A US judge had previously ordered that CNN and two other news organizations be reinstated for White House news coverage; however, Trump has clearly disregarded that judicial directive.
