Chinese President Xi Jinping has stated that he is ready to work with current US President Donald Trump. Speaking at the White House during his state visit to the United States, Xi emphasized the importance of further strengthening communication and cooperation between the two nations.
On Thursday (local time), Xi expressed his great pleasure in visiting the United States. He thanked President Trump and his family for their hospitality and extended congratulations on the upcoming 250th anniversary of US independence.
The Chinese President remarked that both China and the United States are home to wonderful people. He noted that he undertook this visit to sustain the friendship between the two nations and to expand their cooperation.
He stated that, as two major global powers, China and the United States bear a historic responsibility to advance the development and progress of humanity.
“I am ready to work with President Trump to steer the massive ship of China-US relations toward a stable future,” Xi said.
Calling for enhanced communication, Xi acknowledged the differences between China and the United States but noted that through open, in-depth, and consistent dialogue, the two countries can better understand each other and build mutual trust.
