US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are currently at the White House, where they are delivering speeches. According to a live report by CNN, Trump was the first to speak following the playing of both nations’ national anthems.
Addressing the delegations from both countries, Trump said, “I am delighted to welcome you to the beautiful White House. It is truly a great honor. The hospitality you extended during my visit to Beijing last May was extraordinary and truly wonderful. Now, Melania and I feel honored to host you here in Washington.”
Trump added, “A friendship has developed between President Xi and me ever since I was first elected in 2016—a truly great friendship. This relationship is built on mutual respect and the vital interests of our people.”
