Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has sharply criticized European nations for their double standards regarding the regional situation. He accused these countries of maintaining silence and adopting a policy of appeasement in the face of “aggressive actions and crimes” committed by the United States and Israel against Iran.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Tom de Bruijn on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.
The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that while European nations profess a commitment to the rule of law and human rights, they simultaneously remain indifferent to—or even support—the “overt military aggression” by the US and Israel against Iran.
During the meeting, Dutch Foreign Minister Tom de Bruijn emphasized the importance of diplomacy. He also outlined his country’s position regarding the ongoing regional situation as well as the communication and relations between Iran and Europe.
