Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq are currently at their peak.
He made these remarks on Monday night in the holy Iraqi city of Najaf.
Iran’s state news agency, IRNA, published his statement.
“Fortunately, our relations with the Iraqi government are currently in the best possible state,” Araghchi said.
He added that highly productive discussions took place between the two countries during the Iraqi Prime Minister’s recent visit to Tehran.
According to the Iranian Foreign Minister, cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad is not limited to the political sphere alone; the two nations maintain close collaboration in the economic and security sectors, alongside a coordinated stance on various shared issues.
Amid the shifting geopolitical landscape of the Middle East, the close relationship between Iran and Iraq is viewed as a crucial component of diplomatic and security cooperation in the region.
