Houthi fighters killed or wounded

Yemen’s internationally recognized armed forces announced on Friday that they had conducted 474 airstrikes and precision military operations over the past 24 hours, targeting Houthi positions, logistics, and military capabilities. They claimed that 1,540 Houthi fighters were killed or injured in these operations. Military spokesperson Majed Al-Najili stated that fighter jets, drones, artillery, missiles, and rocket launchers were utilized in these missions. The operations spanned various fronts, ranging from southern Haradh and the west coast to Kitaf, Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda, Lahij, Sana’a, and Saada. He noted that military activity was most intense in Taiz.

It was claimed that the majority of Houthi casualties occurred there. The army further reported that 216 military vehicles and other military equipment were destroyed or rendered inoperable. Meanwhile, the Houthis separately claimed that Saudi forces had launched 94 airstrikes and missile attacks on areas under their control during the same 24-hour period. These attacks targeted various areas, including Sana’a, Saada, Taiz, Hajjah, Amran, and Ibb. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that civilians were killed and injured in these attacks. He also claimed that the total number of attacks by Saudi forces has reached 1,350 since the latest escalation began.

However, these claims from both sides could not be independently verified. These statements come amidst intensifying fighting and cross-border attacks. The Saudi-led coalition announced that it had detected and destroyed three ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis. The coalition stated that the missiles were aimed at the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.
