US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his birthday.
According to the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with US President Donald Trump by phone yesterday, Sunday. During the conversation, Putin wished the US President a happy birthday and discussed bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington. Trump turned 81 yesterday.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov stated that during the conversation, which lasted nearly an hour, Trump once again called for an end to the war in Ukraine.
Ushakov added that they also agreed that US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would soon visit Russia again. Putin told Trump that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wished to hold a meeting, he would have to come to Moscow. However, Zelenskyy has consistently rejected this proposal from Putin.
A statement issued by the Kremlin noted that Trump informed Putin that an agreement regarding the conflict between the US and Iran had been finalized.
CNN contacted the White House for comment on this matter but received no response.
The Ukrainian President’s office stated yesterday that Trump also spoke with Zelenskyy by phone. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy wished the US President a happy birthday.
Zelenskyy added, “We held a fairly detailed discussion on many important issues, including, of course, the establishment of peace.”
Referring to the G7 summit of the world’s seven leading nations taking place in France this week, Zelenskyy further added, “We agreed to discuss this matter in greater detail during our meeting at the G7 summit.”
