US announces formation of multinational drone task force for the first time

The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the formation of a multinational, multi-domain attack drone task force for the first time. This new unit has been named ‘Task Force Falcon Strike.’

In a statement, CENTCOM announced that the task force would deploy one-way attack drones capable of operating across surface, underwater, and land-based domains. Military personnel from regional partner nations, alongside US forces, will participate in the initiative.

This announcement comes nine months after the establishment of ‘Task Force Scorpion Strike,’ the US military’s first specialized one-way attack drone squadron in the Middle East.

CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper said, “Building on the tremendous innovation taking place among our regional allies and partners, Task Force Falcon Strike will further expand upon the success of Scorpion Strike.”

He added, “By integrating and deploying these new capabilities, we will be able to rapidly realize the new possibilities emerging ahead.” #USA#usarmy#USNews
