They plan to meet next Tuesday to determine the strategy following the ongoing conflict with Iran. A primary objective of the meeting is to outline the Trump administration’s future plans for managing the post-conflict situation. Axios reported this news, citing US officials.
The discussions may involve top leaders or foreign ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. On Wednesday, Trump remarked that he hopes they are nearing the end of the conflict. He further claimed that Iran has expressed interest in reaching a direct agreement. Due to the presence of US military bases, these Gulf nations have faced direct attacks from Iran, and their oil and gas exports have suffered severe damage.
The US State Department began sending formal invitations to the Gulf leaders on Wednesday. Sources indicated that leaders from other Arab and Muslim nations might also join the discussions at a later stage.
