US President Donald Trump has warned of a severe strike against Iran following allegations of a ballistic missile attack targeting US troops in Jordan. Al Jazeera reported the story.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump stated that US forces had intercepted multiple ballistic missiles fired at American troops in the Middle East. Responding to the attack, he said, “We will hit them hard. They will pay a heavy price.”
Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst summarized Trump’s remarks. Trump noted that US troops had only a few minutes to react during the missile attack but successfully intercepted the incoming missiles.
Meanwhile, Trump also commented on joint US-Saudi airstrikes against pro-Iran armed groups in Iraq. He stated that these strikes were carried out in coordination with the Iraqi government.
Describing Iran-backed militias as a “cancer to the world,” Trump said his administration is considering further actions against armed groups allied with Iran.
This incident has raised concerns about escalating tensions in the Middle East among the US, Iran, and their respective allies.
