Trump has lost the war with Iran- US Senator Murphy

US Democratic Senator Chris Murphy has stated that US President Donald Trump has lost the conflict with Iran. He claims that this ongoing confrontation is weakening Washington while strengthening Tehran.

In an interview with NBC News, Murphy said he would support even a “bad deal” to end the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He believes that as negotiations remain stalled, the cost of reopening this strategic waterway is rising.

Murphy said, “The conflict must end. The longer it continues, the weaker the US becomes, the stronger Iran grows, and the more ordinary Americans suffer due to rising prices.”

The US lawmaker added that he would oppose allocating additional funds to continue the conflict. However, he would support funding to replenish US military stockpiles of weapons and ammunition once the conflict has ended.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Sunday that no direct talks are taking place with the US; he also made it clear that the Strait of Hormuz would not be reopened until Washington meets Tehran’s demands.
