US President Donald Trump has remarked that the United States and Israel may have gone too far in targeting and killing top Iranian leaders. He also hinted that the successive deaths of Iranian leaders have created uncertainty regarding whom to choose for negotiations with the country.

Trump made these remarks while addressing supporters at an election rally in Ohio late last night (local time).

He stated, “Perhaps we overreacted regarding Iranian leaders, because now we no longer know who we are negotiating with.”

It is believed that Trump made this comment in the context of the ongoing conflict between the US/Israel and Iran, specifically regarding the killing of the country’s former leaders and top officials. He feels that the successive loss of life within Iran’s leadership has made it difficult to identify suitable representatives for talks.

Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance told the news agency Reuters that Washington remains uncertain about how decisions are currently being made within the Iranian leadership.
