Yesterday, Thursday, the young man—identified as Annu Gupta—jumped into the Yamuna River from the New Yamuna Bridge in Prayagraj. Upon receiving the news, police and local divers rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation. He was subsequently rescued alive. Police suspect that Annu and the young woman were a couple.
According to eyewitnesses, the young woman had accompanied Annu to the bridge, and both had arrived with the intent of taking their own lives. However, immediately after Annu jumped into the river, the young woman walked away from the scene.
Upon being notified of the incident, police and local divers quickly arrived and began a rescue operation. After a prolonged effort, they succeeded in rescuing Annu alive from the river.
