Here's a basic recipe for sugo (Italian tomato sauce):
Ingredients:
1 can (28 oz) of crushed tomatoes
1 onion, finely chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Heat the Olive Oil in a large pot over medium Heat…..
Add the chopped Onion and Sauté for about 05 minutes or until the onion is translucent….
Add the minced Garlic and Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes…..
Pour in the crushed Tomatoes, Oregano, Basil, Salt, and Pepper….
Stir everything together and bring the Sauce to a simmer.
Reduce the heat to low & let the Sauce simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally…..
Taste the Sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Serve over your favorite pasta…..
