A regional conference of US ambassadors was held in New Delhi, India, to discuss regional priorities and diplomatic engagement concerning South and Central Asia. US ambassadors and heads of mission stationed in 11 countries, including Bangladesh, participated in the event. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed the conference virtually.
A Reuters report stated that US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti organized this high-level conference. On the social media platform X, he expressed his delight at having all US ambassadors to South and Central Asia gathered together in India.
At the conference, US ambassadors and heads of mission from the 11 countries under the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs coordinated on regional strategic, economic, and security priorities.
Confirming his participation, Rubio stated on X that he had spoken with the US ambassadors and heads of mission stationed in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Rubio remarked that the US ambassadors are working with pride to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
