After living in the United States for over six years, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have finally decided to return to the UK. Later this month, they will be moving from the US to a private residence outside London.
The couple’s children—seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet—were enrolled in a British school this past September.
King Charles was informed of the move on Sunday. Neither Prince Harry nor Meghan currently has any plans to resume their roles as working members of the royal family.
Harry, Meghan, and their children visited the King at his Highgrove estate this past July. Reportedly, the topic of this relocation was not discussed during that visit.
King Charles was formally notified of the matter last week.
Harry and Meghan will maintain their private status without undertaking any official royal duties. King Charles has welcomed their return and expressed satisfaction at the prospect of spending more personal time with his grandchildren.
Meanwhile, the issue of security for Harry and Meghan in the UK remains a major topic of discussion.
Prince Harry had previously stepped down from his royal duties and moved to the United States with his wife, Meghan, in 2020. They had settled in California.
