Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Saudi Arabia from August 6 to 8. He will be accompanied by the country’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
At a weekly press briefing, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that the meeting would focus on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing strategic cooperation, and exchanging views on various regional and international issues.
He described the visit as highly significant amidst the ongoing tensions in the Gulf region. Andrabi noted that it would further reinforce the long-standing ties of mutual trust, cooperation, and brotherhood between the two nations.
Shehbaz Sharif had previously visited Saudi Arabia in April of this year. Recently, Pakistan has extended its support to the multinational maritime defense alliance proposed by Saudi Arabia to ensure the security of shipping and energy supplies in the Red Sea. Furthermore, Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security, legitimate maritime trade, and strategic cooperation.
