Lady Gaga( born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986) is an American singer- songwriter and actress. Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, Gaga studied at Collaborative Arts Project 21 and attended the Tisch School of the Arts. She began performing in the Rock music scene of Manhattan’s Lower East Side in 2003 & enrolled at the New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Gaga rose to fame with the release of her debut album, The Fame( 2008), which was a critical and marketable success. It topped theU.S. Billboard 200 and contained the chart- topping singles” Just Dance” and” Poker Face”. Her posterior albums, The Fame Monster( 2009), Born This Way( 2011), ARTPOP( 2013) and Joanne( 2016), all reachedNo. 1 on theU.S. Billboard 200.

In addition to her mainstream success, Gaga has won nine Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, & two Critics’ Choice Movie Awards…. She has sold 27 million albums and 146 million singles worldwide, making her one of the best- dealing music artists of all time… Her other ventures include an apparel line, a scent, and a charitable association.

Gaga has been noted for her humanitarian work, including LGBT rights and the Born This Way Foundation, non-profit association that works to empower youth. She has also been lauded for her fashion sense and is honored as one of the most influential numbers in contemporary music.
