IRGC claims destruction of US warplane on the ground

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed to have destroyed several US military warplanes while they were still on the ground. The organization stated that these aircraft were destroyed during attacks on US bases located in the Middle East. An IRGC spokesperson shared this information with Iran’s semi-official news agency, Fars News, on Sunday. In a statement, the spokesperson noted that successive Iranian attacks caused extensive damage to US Air Force assets at various bases across the region.

He stated that the attacks completely destroyed 17 surveillance and operational drones, an F-15 fighter jet housed in a hangar, a P-8 aircraft, a C-17 transport plane, and eight aerial refueling aircraft. Al Jazeera Online reported this development. This claim by the IRGC has sparked fresh tensions amidst the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel. However, there has been no immediate comment or confirmation regarding these claims from the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) or the US military.
