Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, urging it to refrain from taking any “reckless actions.” Tehran has explicitly warned that if US forces launch further attacks on Iranian targets—following threats made by US President Donald Trump—the response will be severe and decisive.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi delivered this strong warning during separate telephone conversations on Saturday with senior officials from Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.
Just hours before the Iranian Foreign Minister issued this dire warning, the Kuwaiti military claimed to have shot down a drone launched from Iran. Kuwaiti authorities stated that Iran had deployed these drones to target several of the country’s key installations.
In his discussions with Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Araghchi affirmed that Iran is prepared to mount a firm and harsh response to any external aggression.
In a message posted on his Telegram account, Araghchi stated that he had discussed with allied nations the insecurity arising across the Middle East due to the United States’ “destabilizing activities.”
Later, in a conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Araghchi went a step further, declaring that if the US or Israel launched an attack—or if any other regional nation participated in such military action—Iran would launch “retaliatory strikes of equal magnitude” against all of them.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a direct telephone conversation with US President Trump.
Citing a US official, the news outlet Axios reported that the Crown Prince expressed deep “concern regarding potential US military plans concerning Iran and sought a clear explanation” on the matter.
Separately, Nournews—a news agency linked to Iran’s top security body—hinted at massive destruction in a report. It stated that if the US targets Iran’s own energy infrastructure, Iran would retaliate by attacking oil fields in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as gas fields in Qatar and Israel. In the words of Noor News, “Everything will be reduced to ashes.”
However, during a US cabinet meeting at Camp David the previous Friday, President Trump struck a somewhat softer tone, expressing his belief that US negotiators could still reach a diplomatic settlement with Iran. The high-level delegation assembled by Trump currently includes his son-in-law Jared Kushner, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
While acknowledging the possibility of diplomatic talks, Trump accused Iran of reneging on its commitments. He stated that his confidence in Iran is steadily waning and warned that he would resort to military strikes against them if compelled to do so.
For its part, Iran has consistently leveled counter-accusations against the United States, alleging repeated violations of agreements and commitments.
