A magnitude 3.8 earthquake has struck eastern Iran. Shervin Tabrizi, a spokesperson for Tehran’s emergency services, stated that the tremor was felt around 7:19 AM local time on Monday.
However, there have been no reports of casualties or damage so far.
Shervin noted that tremors were reported in the Pardis, Bumehen, and Lavasan areas.
Earlier, US forces had launched an attack on Iran’s Larak Island. In retaliation, Iran carried out counter-attacks targeting US bases in two Middle Eastern countries.
The last exchange of attacks between the two nations occurred in late July. This fresh round of attacks has once again escalated tensions in the Middle East.
Iran reported that at least two people were killed and two others injured in the US attack.
The country has warned that it would deliver a strong response to the attack.
US Central Command stated that it had taken limited and precise action against forces laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz that posed an imminent threat.
Meanwhile, Iran claimed that, in response to the US attack, it had struck a US base in Jordan.
The Jordanian military reported intercepting at least eight missiles early Monday morning.
Additionally, Iranian state television reported that Iranian forces had attacked an airbase in the United Arab Emirates.
