Democrats are planning to launch an investigation into the activities of Elon Musk—head of the space exploration company SpaceX—should they secure a victory in the upcoming midterm elections. This has incensed Musk, a close associate of President Trump.
On X (formerly Twitter), the social media platform he owns, Musk wrote: “Live by the sword, die by the sword.”
Musk stated, “Those who choose to engage in conflict with me should understand that I will uncover who is truly pulling the strings behind the scenes and take action against them. I will target not just the puppets, but the masterminds themselves.”
Musk frequently uses this platform to propagate conspiracy theories.
Often cited as the United States’ first potential trillionaire, Musk is a major donor to President Donald Trump’s Republican Party and frequently offers advice to the President. His company, SpaceX, secures significant government contracts, and he also controls the electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla.
Following his substantial financial backing for Trump’s return to power in the 2024 election, Musk has spearheaded a controversial initiative aimed at slashing U.S. government spending—a plan that includes the potential termination of approximately 300,000 federal employees.
Currently, both chambers of Congress—the Senate and the House of Representatives—are under Republican control. However, forecasts suggest that Democrats may secure a majority in the House of Representatives in the upcoming midterm elections on November 3rd.
Should the Democrats gain control of the House, they would assume leadership of key investigative committees—committees that possess the authority to compel testimony. Consequently, Elon Musk could become a primary target of such investigations.
