The upcoming FIFA World Cup opening ceremonies will feature a lineup of globally acclaimed female artists. Among them are Shakira—famous for her hit “Waka Waka”—and India’s sensation, Nora Fatehi. Also set to appear is Lisa, a member of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK. She will perform as a headliner at the opening ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles.

On May 9 (local time), FIFA officially announced the names of the headlining artists for the upcoming World Cup’s opening ceremonies. As this edition of the World Cup is being hosted across three nations—Canada, Mexico, and the United States—FIFA will organize separate opening ceremonies in each of these three host countries.

Lisa is set to take the stage at the opening ceremony in the United States. Joining her in performance will be Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, Rema, and Tyla. FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that this opening ceremony in Los Angeles will demonstrate just how monumental an event the FIFA World Cup 2026 is going to be. He further added that this roster of artists highlights the cultural diversity of the United States and the vitality of the country’s various immigrant communities. At the same time, it will showcase the United States’ profound influence on music, entertainment, and pop culture, as well as the power of music to unite people.

The opening ceremony in the United States is scheduled to begin on June 12 at 4:30 PM local time. The opening match—between the United States and Paraguay—will take place 90 minutes later.
