Chelsea Clinton read the entire Quran at age 15 and encouraged her father to read it too.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton has shared details about his daughter Chelsea Clinton’s interest in Islam.

He revealed this while speaking at an event titled “Multiple Faiths, One Florida,” held at the Koinonia Worship Center in Florida.

Clinton mentioned that his daughter read the entire Quran from beginning to end at the age of 15 and subsequently encouraged him to read it as well.

In his remarks, he strongly condemned the rising anti-Muslim sentiment and discrimination in the United States. He expressed deep frustration and weariness regarding the culture of belittling or disparaging people because of their Islamic faith.

During his speech, Clinton cited a message from the Holy Quran that encourages people from diverse backgrounds to get to know and learn from one another.

“I am deeply troubled by the fact that people are being disparaged simply because they are Muslim,” the former U.S. President stated.

At the event, Bill Clinton quoted verse 13 of Surah Al-Hujurat, which states that humanity was created into different nations and tribes so that they might come to know and understand one another.

He referenced this Quranic teaching to emphasize the importance of fostering mutual respect and harmony among different communities, rather than hostility. Clinton added, “We are all flawed human beings; therefore, every religion has its share of bad actors or negative elements.”

Bill Clinton’s remarks come in the wake of a controversial statement made by former President Donald Trump regarding Al-Sayed, a Muslim candidate running for the Senate in Michigan.

Al-Sayed, a former public health official who is vying to become the first Muslim senator in American history, has faced attempts by political opponents to link him to extremist groups. Multiple reports indicate that Trump attempted to offend religious sensibilities by labeling him a ‘jihadist.’
