Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that any Israeli citizen found in the country will be immediately expelled. He noted that allegations have surfaced regarding an Israeli national’s involvement in the operations of a private residential community at Forest City in the southern state of Johor. Relevant authorities are investigating the matter, and the government will not show any leniency if the allegations are proven true.
He stated, “If we find any Israeli, we will immediately expel them from the country, because we do not recognize Israel as a state.”
According to a report by the Malaysian media outlet ‘Free Malaysia Today,’ Prime Minister Anwar said that authorities are investigating these allegations and the government will not compromise if they are substantiated.
Entry into Malaysia is generally prohibited for holders of Israeli passports without special government authorization, as the country does not recognize Israel.
The country’s Home Ministry has launched an investigation into allegations concerning ‘Network School,’ a Johor-based startup community.
Meanwhile, the Immigration Department reported that all 266 foreign nationals inspected at an international community in Forest City possessed valid immigration documents.
Forest City is a large-scale, mixed-use development project built on a man-made island in Johor, near the Singapore border.
