US forces have been carrying out surprise attacks across Iran over the past few days, targeting the country’s military installations and critical infrastructure.
Iran has reported that at least seven of its soldiers were killed in these attacks. Additionally, at least 30 civilians lost their lives.
These details were reported on Wednesday (July 15) in a live update by the Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera.
On Wednesday, the Iranian military announced that US forces had launched an overnight attack on a military base in the southeastern city of Bampur, resulting in the deaths of at least seven soldiers.
Fatemeh Mohajerani, the Iranian government spokesperson, confirmed the casualty figures on the social media platform X. She conveyed the Iranian government’s grief and condolences to the families of the victims.
Meanwhile, Hossein Kermanpour, the spokesperson for the country’s Ministry of Health, stated that more than 260 people were injured in the latest US attacks; of these, 222 have received treatment and been discharged.
A report by the Tasnim News Agency stated that Iran would deliver a decisive response to these acts of aggression at an appropriate time.
Separately, US President Donald Trump has issued fresh threats against Iran.
He warned that US forces would target Iranian civilian infrastructure, including bridges and power plants.
