Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic has won the Wimbledon women’s singles title by defeating her compatriot Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.

When the 21-year-old Noskova was leading 6-2, 5-2, it appeared she was cruising toward an easy victory. However, Muchova staged an incredible comeback; she saved five match points in the second set, putting Noskova to a stern test. Ultimately, Noskova broke Muchova’s resistance to clinch the win and celebrate the first Grand Slam title of her career.

Linda Noskova becomes the third Czech player in four years to claim the prestigious Wimbledon ‘Venus Rosewater Dish’ trophy.

Tomorrow, top seed Jannik Sinner will face French Open champion Alexander Zverev in the men’s singles final.
