Three people have been killed in widespread violence in Manipur, India. The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM)—the apex body of the Kuki community in the state—has accused members of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) and the Kamson faction of its proxy group, the Zeliangrong United Front, of carrying out the attack. NDTV Online reported this news.

There has been no reaction from the Naga groups regarding the matter. A statement issued by Kuki Inpi Manipur confirmed that three civilians—Letkhongam Haokip, his wife Tinmeri Haokip, and Jangminlal Haokip—were killed in the violence. Seven houses were burned down, and extensive property was destroyed during the attack. The statement further asserted that the killing of innocent people and the destruction of their homes constitute a gross violation of human rights and human dignity.

Targeting civilians is unacceptable under any circumstances. The organization has urged the central government and security forces to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure the swift arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. Officials from the Imphal administration stated that an investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the attack, which took place on Friday.
