At least 15 people were killed and more than 50 others injured in an explosion near a mosque in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Police personnel are among the injured.
Dr. Tahir Ali Shah of the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital told Geo News that the bodies of 15 people and over 50 injured individuals were brought to the hospital following the blast.
According to the police, the explosion occurred during Friday prayers, leaving a crater outside the mosque.
Additional police forces have been deployed in the Police Lines area following the blast.
Rescue workers reported that the exterior of the mosque sustained severe damage, and a wall collapsed.
Meanwhile, authorities have closed the Kohat-Hangu road to all vehicular traffic following the incident.
