Ten terrorists were killed in two separate operations in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The Pakistan Army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), announced this in a statement on Friday.
The statement noted that the ten terrorists were killed in two separate clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a day earlier. The ISPR claimed the slain terrorists belonged to the India-backed ‘Fitna-al-Khawarij’—a term Pakistan uses to refer to members of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to the ISPR, in the first clash, a group of terrorists attempted to attack a security forces checkpoint in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan.
The statement said, “Our troops effectively thwarted this attempt. In the ensuing exchange of fire, eight Kharijis were killed through the effective and precise actions of our soldiers.”
It further added, “Additionally, two more Kharijis were killed in another clash that took place in the Dir district.”
The ISPR stated that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists, all of whom had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities.
