The Financial Times first reported the news of the visa appointment suspension. The report noted that immigrant visa applicants with scheduled interviews at various US embassies and consulates have been informed via email that their appointments are being rescheduled, with new dates to be announced later.
This decision comes at a time when President Donald Trump has introduced sweeping changes to US immigration policy during his second term. His administration has intensified efforts to deport undocumented immigrants and ramped up anti-immigration operations.
Under this initiative, US visas and green cards have been revoked, and applications rejected, for various reasons—including the expression of dissenting political views and participation in pro-Palestinian protests against Israel’s offensive in Gaza.
Trump maintains that these stringent measures are intended to strengthen US national security.
Court Intervention Regarding Visas for 75 Countries, Including Bangladesh

Last Friday, a US judge struck down a policy that had suspended the issuance of immigrant visas to citizens of 75 countries, including Bangladesh. The court stated that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio exceeded the limits of his legal authority by implementing that policy.
