Esmail Kowsari, a member of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Committee, has described US President Donald Trump’s stance on talks with Iran as “contradictory and unreliable.”
He made these remarks on Wednesday during an interview with Iran’s state broadcaster, IRIB.
Kowsari noted that Trump has claimed 75 times that the Strait of Hormuz has been opened, whereas in reality, it remains closed.
He further pointed out that Trump has spoken of “Iran’s defeat” on 106 occasions, while simultaneously claiming 88 times that an agreement with Tehran is “imminent.”
Earlier, on Tuesday night, Trump had stated that a deal with Iran could be reached within a matter of hours.
However, Tehran has repeatedly maintained that no direct talks are taking place with Washington.
