Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has warned that the United States will receive a lesson at the hands of Tehran and its regional allies—one that it will never be able to forget. He accused the US of repeatedly violating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two nations.

A written statement attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei was read out on Iranian state television yesterday, Saturday. In it, the Supreme Leader stated that the manner in which the US violated last month’s MoU proves that President Donald Trump’s signature is “completely worthless and illegitimate.”

The statement further added, “By repeatedly breaking commitments regarding the agreement, the ‘Great Satan’ has once again proven to everyone that the US President’s signature is now completely worthless and illegitimate. Oppression, hegemony, and barbarism are integral parts of US beliefs and policies.”

In the written statement, Mojtaba Khamenei warned, “Now, as the American enemy seeks to incite war and faces the prospect of paying an even heavier price and suffering greater humiliation, they should know that the beloved Iranian nation and the Resistance Front have prepared a lesson for them—one they will never forget.”

The US has significantly intensified its attacks on Iran this week, targeting civilian infrastructure including bridges, railways, and seawater desalination plants.

In response, Tehran has confirmed carrying out attacks on neighboring Gulf states that host US military bases, such as Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. Additionally, Tehran has claimed to have attacked a US vessel stationed in the northern Indian Ocean.

Kuwaiti authorities reported that a power plant and a water desalination facility in the country were damaged by Iranian attacks. Consequently, authorities have urged the public to be frugal in their electricity consumption.

Mojtaba Khamenei stated that the US has revealed its “true face,” thereby exposing its “deceptive nature, irrationality, unreliability, and malicious intent.” Mojtaba Khamenei has urged the public to place their trust in the leadership to safeguard the country and to remain ‘vigilant’ and ‘active’ while the conflict continues.

Recent reports suggest that Yemen’s Houthis, backed by their key ally Iran, could block the Bab al-Mandab Strait—a crucial gateway to the Red Sea. Such a move would trigger further volatility in global energy markets, drive up inflation, and place additional pressure on Trump to halt the attacks.

This war is deeply unpopular in the United States and has inflicted economic hardship on Americans.

A memorandum of understanding signed last month, mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, aimed to create the necessary conditions for a permanent end to the war.

However, since the signing of the agreement, both Tehran and Washington have accused each other of violations and declared the deal ‘dead.’
