Surprise Ukrainian Attack on Russia Leaves 4 Dead

Ukraine launched a massive overnight drone attack on the Russian port city of Novorossiysk, located on the Black Sea coast. At least four people, including a child, were killed in the assault. Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of Russia’s Krasnodar region, confirmed the details, as reported by RT. On Wednesday morning, he stated that another 29 people were injured, three of whom are in serious condition.

Kondratyev emphasized that Ukrainian forces specifically targeted civilian infrastructure. The Russian official noted that a church and a kindergarten were among the structures damaged in the attack. He added that homes in the city of Anapa were also damaged by the Ukrainian strikes. Additionally, Gelendzhik—another resort town in the Krasnodar region, southeast of Novorossiysk—was hit by Ukrainian drones; the town’s mayor, Alexey Bogodistov, confirmed the attack.

However, he did not report any casualties there. The war between Ukraine and Russia has been ongoing for nearly five years, resulting in numerous casualties on both sides. Yet, there are no signs of the conflict ending; on the contrary, hostilities between the two nations have intensified significantly in eastern Ukraine.
