On the holy day of Eid al-Adha, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan launched a scathing verbal attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Labeling Netanyahu a “dictator,” he called for unity among the Muslim world to stand against him.

Speaking to journalists following the Eid prayers at the Çamlıca Mosque in Istanbul, Erdoğan stated, “I believe that this dictator—known as Netanyahu—will receive the necessary lesson at the hands of the world’s Muslims.”

Earlier yesterday, Friday, Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. According to a report by Al Jazeera, the phone call between the two leaders covered bilateral relations between Turkey and Iran, as well as regional and global developments.

Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey would continue to provide all necessary assistance to ensure the success of ceasefire negotiations.
