At least nine Palestinians were killed in Gaza during overnight Israeli airstrikes. Most residents were asleep at the time of the attacks. Locals reported that the strikes were carried out without any prior warning. The attacks claimed the lives of at least nine people, including four children. This news was reported by Al Jazeera Online. Immediately following the strikes, rescue workers rushed to the scene.
During this time, a massive fire broke out in a structure damaged by the attacks. Eyewitnesses reported that, amidst the horrific chaos, a family—including children, women, and elderly members—became trapped inside a burning apartment. Although rescue workers attempted to reach them, the situation proved extremely difficult. Medical officials stated that several individuals sustained severe burns. These attacks were carried out by Israel in violation of the ongoing ceasefire. According to Gaza’s government media office, Israeli forces have carried out more than 3,000 attacks since the ceasefire went into effect in October of last year.
According to data from the media office, these incidents have resulted in the deaths of at least 900 Palestinians and injuries to over 2,000 others. Local residents stated that they had gone to sleep amidst a relatively calm atmosphere; however, they were awakened by the sounds of explosions, raging fires, and the sight of rubble and destruction. Israeli authorities have not yet issued any official statement regarding the attacks.
