US President Donald Trump has claimed that Israel would not exist if it were not for him. At the same time, Trump advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be more “responsible.” This was reported by the BBC.
The report notes that Trump made these remarks at a time when a consensus has been reached regarding an agreement between Iran and the United States—a deal that many Israeli leaders have criticized.

Speaking at the G7 summit in France, Trump said, “Israel would not exist without the United States. And Israel would not exist without me either, because no other president was prepared to do what I have done.”
Highlighting his excellent relationship with Netanyahu, Trump added, “Now, Bibi [Netanyahu] needs to be more responsible regarding Lebanon.”

He further remarked, “I did not like the way Israel handled the situation with Lebanon and Hezbollah. They should have wrapped things up more quickly; the matter has dragged on for too long. Such situations could negatively impact a major deal with Iran.”
