The Israeli military has claimed that a Hamas commander was killed during an offensive operation in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza.

In a statement, the Israeli military announced that Anas Mahmoud Ahmed Hamdan was killed during an operation conducted on Thursday in coordination with Shin Bet, the country’s internal security agency. They claimed he served as a “right-hand man” to top Hamas leaders.

The statement further noted that Hamdan played a significant role in the detention of hostages in Gaza and the processes related to their return to Israel.

However, there has been no comment from Hamas regarding this claim by Israel.
