Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that the Iranian people cannot be forced to surrender through the use of coercion. He made these remarks on Tuesday before departing for New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly session.

Citing state media, Pezeshkian said he would present the “position of the Islamic Republic of Iran” at the UN session. At the same time, he intends to highlight the grievances of the Iranian people, crimes committed against them, and the mistrust arising from various incidents.

Pezeshkian noted that Iran has sat at the negotiating table and signed agreements on multiple occasions. However, he pointed out that the commitments made in these agreements were not honored, and the world has witnessed violations of written accords.

He asserted that people cannot be compelled to surrender through force. He added that the world is witnessing the events unfolding in places such as Gaza, Palestine, Syria, Yemen, and Iran.

The Iranian president alleged that adversaries are attempting to block various avenues in a bid to force the Iranian people to surrender under pressure. Claiming that they have failed to achieve their objectives through military means, Pezeshkian stated that they are now attempting to employ other tactics.

He alleged that efforts are being made to block land and air routes, incite internal division, manipulate the media, and exploit various ethnic groups. He further claimed that attempts are underway to weaken the country from within by maximally exploiting its vulnerabilities.

Pezeshkian’s address at the UN General Assembly comes amidst ongoing regional conflicts surrounding Iran, tensions with Western nations, and international concerns regarding its nuclear program. His remarks emphasized the importance of dialogue while opposing the pressure and coercion directed at Iran.
