Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed to have carried out drone attacks in Saudi Arabia. This information was reported on Thursday (August 20) in a live update by the Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera.
Yahya Saree, the group’s military spokesman, stated that the attacks targeted a “sensitive site” at Saudi Arabia’s Najran Airport and a facility belonging to the state-owned oil company Aramco in Najran.
According to the spokesman for the Iran-backed Houthis, attempts were made to strike these facilities through two separate drone attacks.
However, there has been no immediate response from Saudi Arabia regarding the Houthis’ claim.
