Houthis claim attack on Aramco oil refinery near Riyadh.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for an attack on a key oil refinery near Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The attack was carried out simultaneously using drones and ballistic missiles. On Saturday, towering flames and massive plumes of smoke were seen rising from the Aramco refinery. Firefighters are working to bring the blaze under control. However, neither Saudi authorities nor Aramco have immediately issued an official statement regarding the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage. Al Jazeera Online reported this news.

In a post on X, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed that the oil facility caught fire following their missile and drone strikes. He stated that this retaliatory action was taken in response to recent Saudi airstrikes on various Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, including the capital, Sana’a. Saree further claimed that the Saudi-led coalition had conducted at least 60 airstrikes on Houthi-controlled territories over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry in the Houthi-controlled Yemeni capital, Sana’a, has claimed that 72 people have been killed and 125 injured in Saudi attacks since the escalation of the conflict.
